Taking the first step toward getting help is often the most difficult. At the start of your counseling experience, I will explain the process to you and answer your questions. As a team, you and I will identify your concerns and establish goals for you. I have 20 years of experience in the counseling profession and have worked with a variety of issues. I hope to be able to help you find your own improved quality of life.
Margaret A. Summy, M.Ed. Is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor who lives in Fort Worth, Texas. She is in private practice with her husband, William B. Summy PhD and their colleagues at Summy Associates in Fort Worth. They work with adults, adolescents, children and seniors and have over 20 years of experience.
Margaret attended the University of Texas, Austin and completed a B.S.degree in Kinesiology and a Master’s degree in Counseling at Texas Christian University, Fort Worth. Margaret is certified in clinical hypnosis and is a clinical member of AAMFT. She has a special interest in working with eating disorders, substance abuse, marriage counseling and relationship issues.
Margaret enjoys spending time with her family, her six granddaughters, her daughter who lives in Fort Worth, her son who lives in Hondo, Texas, her dog, Rosie, and vacations at any beach. Margaret is active in her community and her church. She believes that each individual has resiliency and an ability to improve the quality of life as they find balance and improve their skills to cope with life’s obstacles and opportunities.
