My Philosophy
I believe counseling is a collaborative effort between client and therapist. We will work together to achieve the goals that you set. In the first session I will help you identify your goals and our work together will be focused on helping you reach those goals. Goals will be re-evaluated along the way. I believe that life is not a destination but is a journey of self-discovery and growth.
People seek counseling for a wide variety of reasons, some being…
- A desire to alleviate symptoms of depression, anxiety, or fear
- A desire to get into recovery from addictions, alcoholism, or eating disorders
- A desire to sort out conflicted feelings about a job, family situation, or relationship
- A desire to deal with past issues, traumas, or “baggage”
- A desire to get some help in figuring out the direction they want to take with their life
- A desire to deal with a loss, whether of a loved one, marriage, or job
- A desire to reduce conflict in their primary relationship and reconnect emotionally
…and many other reasons
